Dr. Gayane Arakelova is a neurologist and psychiatrist who is currently the vice director of AVAN Mental Health Center. Dr. Arakelova studied at Yerevan State Medical University after Mkhitar Heratsi and specialized in General Medicine. She then completed her Post-graduate clinical residency program with honors in Neurology. After that she completed her Post-diploma education in Moscow at the Russian Medical Academy specializing in Psychotherapy and did her residency in the National Institute of Health in Yerevan. Dr. Arakelova is also an associate professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the National Institute of Health in Armenia and has 13 publications on topics related to psychiatry, which have been published in more than 10 medical scientific journals.

- Candidate of Science Degree in Psychiatry/Psychotherapy.

- Dissertation topic “Communication (autistic) disorders and self-perception” (psychological and psychopathological aspects) (2004).
